I don't seem to be able to open my mouth

I am someone who would boastfully say that I will live the rest of my life in India whenever somebody brings out "beta aage kya? US?" but the decisions we took a while ago need not be the ones we live thereafter.

It's been days since the playing of loud (unpleasant as well prolly) music, randomly during the day and at odd hours of twilight, with no essence of bhakti at all(Jutti Meri? seriously? and garba songs. all this in Hyderabad). Ganesh Chaturthi is what some of my core childhood memories were woven around in Gujarat and Ganesh ji being the only god I somehow held onto even between the bouts of atheism, it took some time for me to know that it was perhaps the concept of religion i was not comfortable with and not god himself.

I see some of my friends posting happily while beating the drums. Am i the only one having a problem? of course, my sensory overload(i think i have this. not sure) makes it worse but am sure this is beyond bearable for anyone. I looked up online and apparently government is fine with this upto some time but all the quora and reddit posts enlightened me that this runs deeper in with politics. Ughh! Indians and their pompous-not-traditional rituals!

What's with that many people buying idols? That too of PoP? We don't have that many temples around then why idols? We bring Ganesha to my home too every year but the small clay idols aren't any harm. The idea of competing about the size of idols in different localities is ridiculous when looked into with scrutiny. The short term joy is cumulating to long term disruption in silence. Can't people foresee?

This was fun years ago but we require adaptation to the changing situation. But I don't seem to be able to open my mouth and question.
